It is not uncommon for new ponds to go through an algea phase. Basically, your filtration system is in swing, but your plants have not fully taken off yet. Give you plants a bit more time. Also, I would not recommend attemping to rid your pond of algea with chemicals or other additives. They will only slow down the maturing of the eco-system.

You can also try cutting back on the amount of food you give your fish. This will help by (1) reducing the nutrients available to the algea and (2) push your fish to eating some of the algea.

As a last resort, you can also remove string algea by twirling a plant stake in the algea. The algea will wrap itself around the stake and you can remove it manually. The advantage with this method is that you will be removing the nutrients from the water entirely and thus slowing down future algea growth.
