If you have the room, you can build a temporary pond above ground using 8ft landscape timbers as your forms. Keep the pond under 14" or so to keep the sides from busting out. To deter predators, some shade cloth suspended a bit above the pond will help. A temporary filter set up will be needed to handle the fish waste. This, in turn, will give you some seeded filter media for your new pond when it is finished.
The only hazard here is that you may decide to keep the temporary pond for growing your ponding inventory.
