I had a blue heron devestate my whole pond one summer. My beautiful koi and commets. I am not sure if your fish survived. Sometimes the stress alone can kill them. I have tried the fake heron and moving it, didn't work. Netting is really a pain and I have lost fish with it because you need to make hole for the plants and the fish get on top of it and can die. What I have found to work beautifully is a simple string around the pond. about 1 - 1 1/2 ft high. The string will scare them when they feel it. Do not have anything for them to land on in the pond. They do not like to get their feathers wet, they can't take off so make sure if you have a place for the fish to hide that it is deep enough so the heron cannot land on it.
Hope I have been helpful.
