You almost can't kill gambusia. I'll bring you some in a large ziploc bag. They'll be fine until you get them home. Then just float the bag for a few minutes to equalize temperature and add the fish to the tub. You do want to avoid adding the rest of the water from the bag, as it will have a lot of ammonia and crud in it by the time you get home.
