I took a somewhat smaller pleco to Austin Aquariums, where they gave me $3 credit for my ~8" long fish. Being emotionally attached to Goliath, I was reluctant to give him up at all but after visiting w/Lucy I was ensured he'd be fine. The tanks are clean and the fish are well cared for. One employee commented they don't sell a lot of the big ones bc people just don't have the room.
