One of our members is going to deliver two 12" koi to me on Saturday in a temporary holding tank of some kind.
Does anyone have some advice for helping these two three year olds adjust?
They have been living in a trash can type container for a few weeks, so I thought I would test and replace some of the water with my ponds water.
I plan to cover the top of the transport container with heavy duty deer netting to keep the crazy koi from jumping out.
I thought I would wrap the sides of this holding tank with faux fleece blankets for warmth.
I also thought to keep them in quarantine for at least a week to monitor their health.
I also thought perhaps a small air pump and air stone would improve their health in the holding tank.
Am I missing anything?
Should I add salt to the holding tank to combat the stress of moving?
Your thoughts are appreciated.
