Past Pond Tour Logos

BJ Jenkins, with the help of the members of the Pond Society, has been working on creating a history of the different logos used on the Pond Tour Tee Shirts through the years. Grouped below, they are listed by year to the best of the accumulative knowledges of the members involved.

We are always looking to update out logos and if any of you have any older Tees that are not currently included, please contact the Webmaster or send him a .jpg picture of the shirt. They can be logos that the Pond Society generated but never used, just like the bottom Gallery. You can reach the Webmaster at this link

Austin Pond Society

Austin Pond Society

Welcome to the Austin Pond Society

Welcome to our new website. In this issue, we are trying to settle on a format whereby we can show all of the current events along with things to look forward to. We have also included, for the first time, the ability to register with the Association on-line along with purchasing tickets to the Pond Tour as the time gets closer. You can even become a sponsor on-line and we advertise your business both here and in the Stream.

In the APS Assets, there is information about the Pond-o-Vacs and a new item we have, a 125 gallon holding tank. The highlight of the year is the Pond and Garden Tour and it too has information along with an entry form just in case you would like to enter your pond or even volunteer to help out.

The Blog section contains blogs of the speakers who we were so lucky to hear and see at the meetings along with fun things like the Plant Swap and Sponsor Night.

We have tried to cover it all in a format that we hope you find pleasing to the eye especially with the pictures and videos.

Again, if you have suggestions, contact me

Lots to look forward to…
Francis Allcorn, Webmaster/Editor

APS February 2015 Meeting

Jeannie's Pond

The Pond Society held their second meeting of the year on Monday, February 16 at the Zilker Botanical Gardens Meeting Room. There were about 40 members in attendance including a couple of new members. We welcome them.

Our resident chef, Laura Creasley, offered us chicken Tetrazzini with a salad which really hit the spot. Someone else had brought an apple pie. I’m a sucker for any type of pie so of course I grabbed a piece of it and it was delicious. There goes my weight again….

Our speaker for the evening was Steve Kainer, owner of the Hill Country Water Gardens in Cedar Park. If you have not yet visited his place, you are missing out on a real treat. With 5 acres laid out with ponds and plants and everything that a pond and garden enthusiast could want, it is a gardeners paradise.

Steve spoke to us about preparing our ponds for the Spring and elicited a big response from the floor as he answered question after question. There were lively discussions on many of the topics. Thanks Steve for a very interesting presentation.

Following Steve, Jeannie Ferrier, our President took the floor for the business session.  She introduced our new out-of-state sponsor, Empire Aquatics and also mentioned that we still need a Parliamentarian. The meeting adjourned at 8:15 pm.

Our next meeting will be held on Monday, March 15 at the usual time and place. We hope to see you there.
